Safety Before Everything
Weather, equipment, vessel condition, and guest comfort are considered before we leave the dock and throughout the trip.
More than a day of fishing
Tidewater Charters was built around family, local knowledge, and a lifelong connection to the waters off Cape May.

Cape May roots
Our story
Tidewater Charters began with a simple idea: share the kind of fishing days our family has enjoyed for generations.
For us, fishing has never been only about what ends up in the cooler. It’s the early morning ride out of the harbor, the anticipation of the first bite, and the stories that somehow get better every time they’re told.
We started Tidewater to give more people that experience. Every trip is operated with the same care we would give a day on the water with our own family.
Whether you’re visiting Cape May for the first time or have spent your whole life near the coast, you’re welcome aboard.

— The Tidewater Family
At the helm
A good captain knows where to find fish. A great captain knows how to make the entire day worthwhile.
Captain Josh grew up fishing the waters surrounding Cape May. Years spent learning local tides, seasonal patterns, reefs, wrecks, and offshore grounds have given him the experience to adapt each trip to the conditions and the anglers aboard.
His approach is patient, safety-focused, and hands-on. First-time anglers get as much guidance as they need, while experienced crews get the local knowledge and flexibility required for a serious fishing day.
How we operate
Weather, equipment, vessel condition, and guest comfort are considered before we leave the dock and throughout the trip.
Beginners, families, experienced anglers, and anyone simply looking for a great day outside are welcome aboard.
We follow current fishing regulations, support responsible harvest, and respect the waters that make our work possible.
Conditions change. We’ll always give you a straightforward recommendation about the best trip and expectations for the day.
Your ride for the day
Our center-console vessel is configured for inshore, nearshore, and offshore fishing while giving guests room to move comfortably around the deck.
The boat is professionally maintained and outfitted with modern navigation, communication, fishing, and safety equipment.
Our home port
Cape May sits where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic, creating access to bays, inlets, reefs, wrecks, and productive offshore waters. It’s more than our departure point—it’s home.
